In Japan, there are many traditional ceremony exist. But I think 'Meimei no sho' is a first ceremony for the life.
What is Meimei no sho??? 'Meimei' = to give name / 'Sho'= calligraphy
So, it means to give a name to your child at first and introduce to everyone.
Well... related to new born baby, there is a similar ceremony in Japan and Europe. In Europe, there is a traditional item to give a 'silver spoon' to the baby to wish 'being born with a silver spoon on his/her mouth' . Japan also have a similar meaning of ceremony call 'Okuizome'
Anyway, my sons are getting old but I make time to time 'Meimei no sho' and reminds me when my sons old memory. 💗
